First Week

Dear parents,

Despite the hot weather and early dismissals, we had a great first week of school. The kids even enjoyed an extra day off.

September is a busy month with back to school activities.

Please join us tomorrow for our BACK TO SCHOOL PANCAKE BREAKFAST. Stop by anytime between 9 AM and 11 AM and enjoy a homemade breakfast. Rob Shandrowski and his cooking crew will be flipping pancakes for families to enjoy. Cost is $5 a family!

One Wednesday, September 5th, we have a few meetings scheduled:

  • 6:00 PM - BAND MEETING - CT Future Musicians provides a music program to support our school band. Parents of students in grades 4 through 8 who are interested in learning more about the school band program should join us this evening to learn about the cost and expectations for your child. For more information please visit

  • 6:30 PM - HSA MEETING -We will hold our first Home-School Association meeting in the all purpose room. It is a time for parents to gather and discuss important events that are coming up and learn of ways you can get involved to support your child’s education. An agenda will be provided prior to the meeting and will be posted online.

  • 7:00 PM - MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT -At the conclusion of the H.S.A. meeting, you will head to your child’s classroom to meet your their teacher and learn about the classroom policies and expectations for the school year. We will hold two sessions. 7:00-7:20 and then 7:20 - 7:40 PM. The purpose of two sessions is to accomodate families with more than 1 child in the school.

Next Friday is First Friday and the children in Grade Kindergarten through grade 8 will be going to 9:30 AM mass. Children should wear their Mass Uniforms. For boys, it is a button down shirt, tie, pants, and shoes. For girls, it is polo shirt with jumper or skirt and shoes. No sneakers please.

We will also be celebrating Grandparents’ Day on Friday. The children get to invite 1 or 2 grandparents to have lunch with them. Grandparents bring a lunch to share with their grandchildren. If grandparents are not able to come, please let the teacher know so we can arrange to have a special friend from another class join them for lunch. We will be raffling off a basket and ice cream will be for sale for $1. All proceed benefit the 8th grade class of 2019.

All early dismissal days will be at 1 PM, unless notified differently. Please note: PreK children will dismiss 10 minutes earlier (12:50 PM) on early dismissal days. Parents should go the All Purpose room to pick up their child.

A final reminder, please send in your Back to School Forms as soon as possible. All forms are due by Tuesday.

Enjoy the long Labor Day weekend!

God Bless,

Mrs. Torres
